Buckwheat Pillows

A mainstay of Japanese sleeping habits is the buckwheat pillow.

The main takeaway is that they are much firmer than feather pillows. This is by design, as they are meant to provide solid, consistent support for your neck, which can lead to a more restful sleep. They seem to be highly recommended for those of us who sleep on our sides.

They are not as comfortable as feather pillows when you first lay your head down, and are also a bit noisy when you move your head.

I’ve just ordered one, and I'll post an update in a few weeks with my honest thoughts.
